Overview

Claude Fable 5.1 is a Mythos-class language model developed by Anthropic, announced on September 1, 2026 as the successor to Claude Fable 5. Anthropic positions it as its most capable model for coding and knowledge work, with strong research capabilities. The model is built for the most ambitious, long-running projects — it avoids easy-seeming shortcuts, fixes tests properly and communicates more effectively than earlier Anthropic models, across all effort levels.

Fable 5.1 is available to Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise users and via the Claude API and marketplaces, as well as on Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. Pricing is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens; cache reads cost $0.25 per million tokens — 75% less than Fable 5. The model excels at long-horizon agentic tasks and demanding reasoning.
