Overview

Solaris is the first model in a new family of AI systems Runway calls “Interface World Models”. Instead of relying on pre-built code, it renders graphical interfaces (apps and websites) in real time, frame by frame, treating user clicks, drags and text as conditioning signals.

Solaris builds on the Gen-4.5 video generation model, adapted to understand interaction and respond in real time, and follows the path opened by GWM-1 (general world model). Runway turned it into a real-time engine by generating frames autoregressively (each frame depends only on prior frames) and by reducing the many-step denoising process to just a few steps.

The model runs at 720p resolution. According to Runway, stable and legible text remains one of the harder problems in video generation. Solaris was released in early access via a request form.
