Description

Dream API is the public API platform from Dream Labs that exposes Dream-1 — a World Action Model “robot brain” that controls bimanual, parallel-gripper robots. An application sends camera images, the robot's current state and a task description, and the model returns the actions to execute.

Dream-1 generalizes zero-shot: it can control robots it has never seen and perform tasks it was never shown, in unseen environments. It works by predicting end-effector (gripper) poses shared across bimanual robots, while the robot's own IK solver turns those poses into joint commands.

The model runs in the cloud and is billed hourly: $3/hour for Dream-1 and $2/hour for the lighter Dream-1-flash. Fine-tuning-as-a-Service and a browser-based Robot Playground (prompt a real robot) are also available. Dream Labs came out of stealth in October 2026 with $90M in seed funding. Dream-1 is a research beta, not validated for safety-critical use.
