GenAI.mil is a generative AI platform launched on December 9, 2025 by the U.S. Department of War (DoW, formerly the Department of Defense). The platform aims to deliver generative AI tools to all civilians, contractors, and military personnel (approximately 3 million users) directly on their work desktops.
The first capability hosted on GenAI.mil is Google Cloud's Gemini for Government. All tools on the platform are certified for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Impact Level 5 (IL5). The platform was built by the AI Rapid Capabilities Cell within the DoW Office of Research & Engineering.
