Description
The Weather API is a REST web service within Google Maps Platform providing global, hyperlocal weather data. It exposes endpoints for current conditions, hourly forecast (up to 240 hours), daily forecast (up to 10 days), hourly history (up to 24 hours) and weather alerts.
Returned data includes temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind, UV index, cloud cover, visibility, air pressure and sun/moon events. Access is via an API key in a Google Cloud project.
Forecasts are powered by the WeatherNext 3 AI model developed by Google DeepMind, also distributed through BigQuery, Earth Engine and Google Cloud Storage. Billing is usage-based with tiered per-1000-call pricing and a monthly free allowance.
