NVIDIA DSX
NVIDIA platform to design, simulate and operate gigawatt-scale AI factories, uniting power, cooling, networking and compute as one system.

Description
NVIDIA DSX is NVIDIA's platform for designing, simulating and operating gigawatt-scale AI factories. It treats the power grid, the facility (data center) and the compute inside as one codesigned system — from the substation to the rack — to maximize the AI tokens generated per watt of available energy. DSX addresses power availability, which has become the biggest bottleneck in AI infrastructure.
The DSX software stack
The Vera Rubin DSX stack is open, modular and composable. It includes DSX MaxLPS (dynamic power management that maximizes tokens per watt), DSX Flex (grid-responsive power orchestration with hybrid onsite generation), DSX Exchange (secure exchange of signals across IT, OT and power, cooling and compute systems), DSX Sim together with DSX SimReady (validating a design as a high-fidelity digital twin) and DSX OS (automating provisioning, workload orchestration and fleet monitoring for multi-tenant operation). The NVIDIA 800 VDC power architecture for megawatt-scale racks complements them.
Reference design and blueprint
The Vera Rubin DSX AI Factory reference design is a guide for designing, building and operating the full AI-factory infrastructure stack — compute, NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet networking, storage and power, cooling and control systems. The NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint, generally available on build.nvidia.com, provides an open framework for building physically accurate digital twins of AI factories, simulating their operations in real time and optimizing performance before construction begins. For qualified partner solutions, NVIDIA runs the DSX Ready designation program.
Ecosystem and partners
Contributors to the reference design and blueprint include Cadence, Dassault Systèmes, Eaton, Jacobs, Nscale, Phaidra, Procore, PTC, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Switch, Trane Technologies and Vertiv. Energy-sector providers also collaborate on the platform, including GE Vernova, Hitachi Energy, Schneider Electric (with AVEVA and ETAP) and Siemens Energy, while companies such as Phaidra and Emerald AI integrate DSX components into their power and cooling optimization systems.
