Cat AI Assistant is Caterpillar’s AI solution that unifies the company’s digital applications and data into a single conversational interface. It runs on Caterpillar’s knowledge base and acts as a proactive partner delivering personalized data and insights.

Who it serves

For fleet managers it provides continuous equipment monitoring, predictive maintenance and operational optimization. For technicians it offers voice-activated access to manuals, repair guidance and parts recommendations without interrupting work. For machine operators it delivers in-cab coaching on safety and efficiency, with edge processing on the NVIDIA Jetson Thor platform.

Technical foundation and availability

The system is built on the Caterpillar Helios data platform, which manages over 16 petabytes of data. It can operate off-board and in-cab, with speech recognition and advanced AI models deployed at the worksite. The off-board version launches in the first quarter of 2026, while in-cab applications were in final validation, with demonstrations at CES 2026.
