OpenAI Dots

Dots are autonomous AI agents unveiled by OpenAI at DevDay 2026 (late September 2026). Each "Dot" works in the background — independently handling recurring and multi-step tasks, learning the user's preferences, and able to work while the user is offline.

Unlike a traditional chat, each agent runs on its own isolated cloud computer with a dedicated browser (optionally with access to selected user folders). Dots are used within the ChatGPT ecosystem, can be reached through messaging apps such as Slack or Microsoft Teams, and multiple agents can coordinate their work.

Dots integrate with a large number of external apps (reported to be over 4,000) through OpenAI's connectors and rely on a safety monitor that can pause actions deemed risky. The first Dot is included with Pro and Business Premium plans, while Enterprise access is offered through a beta.

Media reports state that Dots are powered by OpenAI's new flagship model, but sources disagree on its exact name, and this could not be confirmed in directly verified materials. The exact official page URL and pricing details also come from secondary sources.
