Cursor holds SOC 2 Type II certification (Anschutz & Associates, 2024). Servers are hosted in the US (AWS us-east-1 and us-west-2). Privacy Mode (enabled by default in Business): prompts and code are NOT stored on Cursor's servers or shared with model providers for training. Without Privacy Mode, code snippets may be processed temporarily.
Privacy Mode: OFF by default on Hobby, available on Pro and Business. On Business, Privacy Mode is ON by default for the entire organization. TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit; AES-256 encryption at rest (AWS). No HIPAA/GDPR formal certifications (status: March 2026).
