Texas Instruments IWR6843 is a single-chip FMCW radar operating in the unlicensed 60-64 GHz band, designed for industrial applications such as presence detection, people counting, level monitoring and indoor robot navigation. The device integrates 3 transmitters, 4 receivers, a managing Arm Cortex-R4F, and a TI C674x DSP enabling on-chip signal processing (FFT, CFAR, beamforming) without a separate host processor.
In humanoids, IWR6843 complements cameras and LiDAR in low-light, fog or dust conditions and detects human motion through thin partitions. Available variants include the ISK (Industrial Sensor Kit, long-range) and AOP (Antenna-on-Package, low-profile) configurations. The 60 GHz band offers higher velocity and range resolution than the 24 GHz band while avoiding automotive licensing requirements.

serves as: Sensing, Obstacle Detection, Perception, Localization.
