1X Technologies (known as Halodi Robotics until 2022) is a Norwegian-American robotics and AI company developing general-purpose humanoid robots. Founded in 2014 in Norway by Bernt Øivind Børnich, the company initially focused on safe actuators and full-body control systems for industrial and healthcare robotics. In 2018 it introduced its first humanoid, EVE — a wheeled robot for logistics, security and healthcare. After rebranding in 2022, 1X shifted its focus to domestic robotics; it unveiled NEO Beta in 2024 and NEO Gamma in 2025 — a bipedal humanoid intended for private homes. Global headquarters are in Palo Alto, California, with manufacturing operations in Hayward (California) and Moss (Norway).
