Adobe (Adobe Inc., formerly Adobe Systems Incorporated) is an American technology company founded in 1982 by John Warnock and Charles Geschke - the creators of the PostScript language. It is one of the world's largest providers of digital content-creation software. Adobe's portfolio includes Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom and more), Document Cloud (Acrobat and the PDF format, which Adobe created) and Experience Cloud for marketing and analytics. In AI, Adobe develops the Firefly family of generative models (image, video, vector graphics), integrated across the suite and positioned as 'commercially safe' (trained on licensed/owned data). Adobe is a public company listed on NASDAQ under the symbol ADBE, headquartered in San Jose, California, operating globally and employing about 30,000 people. The company shifted to a subscription (SaaS) model in the 2010s, becoming a leader in creative software and - through Firefly and Sensei - generative and assistive AI.
