ARC Prize

ARC Prize (ARC Prize, Inc.) is a US non-profit organization behind the ARC-AGI benchmark and the ARC Prize competition. The ARC-AGI benchmark was created by François Chollet and published in 2019 alongside his paper "On the Measure of Intelligence"; it measures the ability of AI systems to solve novel reasoning tasks ("easy for humans, hard for AI"). In 2024, Chollet, together with Mike Knoop (co-founder of Zapier), launched the ARC Prize competition with a prize pool exceeding US$1 million, run as an open, reproducible challenge on Kaggle. In early 2025, ARC Prize expanded into a full-fledged non-profit foundation. The organization develops successive benchmark versions (ARC-AGI-1, ARC-AGI-2, ARC-AGI-3) and runs annual editions of the competition.
