AVITA, Inc. (AVITA株式会社) is a Japanese technology startup founded on 1 June 2021 by roboticist Prof. Hiroshi Ishiguro (Osaka University). The company builds avatar and generative-AI software: the AVACOM customer-service platform, the AVATRE (アバトレ) AI training service, an avatar API, and the AVITA OS layer for avatars and robots. It also offers avatar production and a BPaaS model with "avatar workers." It partners with KDDI on a customer-service humanoid integrating the Gemini model. By August 2024 it had raised JPY 1.89B in total (Series A of JPY 1.37B). It is headquartered in the Meguro district of Tokyo.
