A Singapore-based company (Nasdaq: BTDR) combining Bitcoin mining, self-operated data centers and GPU/AI cloud (HPC) with mining-hardware production (SEALMINER ASICs). Spun off from Bitmain in 2021.
Bitdeer (Bitdeer Technologies Group) is a Singapore-headquartered technology company listed on Nasdaq under the ticker BTDR. It was spun off from Bitcoin-mining chip maker Bitmain in 2021 (the Bitdeer platform's origins date to 2018 within Bitmain). The company combines three areas: cryptocurrency mining, self-operated data centers and - increasingly - GPU/AI cloud and high-performance computing (HPC). Bitdeer operates multiple data centers (including in the US and Norway), among them one of the largest in North America, providing compute for both mining and AI model training and inference. It also develops its own hardware line - high-efficiency SEALMINER ASIC rigs (e.g. SEALMINER A4) - and cloud mining services. Bitdeer's founder, chairman and CEO is Jihan Wu, previously a co-founder of Bitmain. The company positions itself at the intersection of energy, compute infrastructure and AI, leveraging its crypto-mining expertise to build data centers for AI.
