Brightband is a US startup building an end-to-end Earth System AI for probabilistic weather and climate forecasting. The company develops machine-learning models intended to be faster and cheaper than traditional physics-based approaches, and plans to open-source its models, training data and evaluation metrics while offering paid services for specialized capabilities (including energy, transportation and agriculture). It was founded in 2024 by Julian Green (formerly Google X), Daniel Rothenberg (formerly Tomorrow.io) and Ryan Keisler (formerly Descartes Labs). In September 2024 the company emerged from stealth, announcing a $10M Series A round led by Prelude Ventures.
