BYD Company Limited (比亚迪股份有限公司) is a Chinese diversified industrial conglomerate headquartered in the Pingshan District of Shenzhen, Guangdong. Founded in 1995 by Wang Chuanfu and Lu Xiangyang, it began as a battery manufacturer. Today BYD operates across electric mobility, batteries, electronics, rail transit, solar and semiconductors. The company is listed on the Hong Kong (1211) and Shenzhen (002594) stock exchanges. In 2024 revenue was about CN¥777 billion and vehicle production exceeded 4.27 million units. In the AI and robotics context, BYD develops the God’s Eye (天神之眼) driver-assistance system, the Xuanji vehicle intelligence architecture and its own automotive semiconductors (including IGBTs and the Xuanji A3). Group subsidiaries include BYD Auto, BYD Electronics (a contract electronics manufacturer supplying Apple and others), FinDreams and BYD Semiconductor.
