Cisco

Cisco (Cisco Systems, Inc.) is an American technology company founded in 1984 by Leonard Bosack and Sandy Lerner, one of the world's largest providers of networking hardware and software. It supplies routers, switches (Catalyst, Nexus), data-center solutions, cybersecurity and collaboration platforms (Webex). In AI, Cisco positions itself as a provider of networking infrastructure for AI data centers (AI-ready networking); it was the first partner to offer networking solutions compliant with the NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) reference architecture. It also develops AI-assisted security and observability (including after acquiring Splunk). Cisco is a public company listed on Nasdaq under the ticker CSCO, headquartered in San Jose, California, operating globally and employing about 90,000 people. Its business model combines hardware sales with software and subscriptions (a shift toward a recurring/software model).
