Frey, both formerly researchers at Prescient Design (Genentech's computational drug discovery unit). The company was building biological foundation models and a platform using generative AI to draft drug R&D plans, manage regulatory strategy and identify new drug candidates. It operated in stealth with a team of fewer than 10 people. In early April 2026 it was acquired by Anthropic in an all-stock deal worth over $400M.
