Doosan Bobcat Inc. (KRX: 241560) is a South Korean, KOSPI-listed manufacturer of compact construction and agricultural machinery and material-handling equipment. The Bobcat brand traces back to Melroe, founded in 1947 in Gwinner, North Dakota; the first light loader was built in 1957 by brothers Cyril and Louis Keller. In 2007, Doosan (via Doosan Infracore) acquired Bobcat from Ingersoll Rand for about US$4.9 billion. The current entity was renamed Doosan Bobcat Inc. in 2015, listed on the KOSPI in 2016, and was spun off from Doosan Infracore as an independent company in 2018. Its largest shareholder is Doosan Enerbility (formerly Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction), within the Doosan Group. The business spans three segments: Compact Equipment (loaders, excavators, telehandlers, compact tractors, mowers, attachments), Material Handling (forklifts, warehouse equipment) and Portable Power (compressors, generators, light towers). Revenue in 2024 was about US$6.27 billion. The company is developing electric and autonomous machines: the all-electric T7X and S7X loaders, the RogueX/RogueX2/RX3 autonomous concept loaders, the AT450 autonomous tractor, and an agriculture partnership with Agtonomy. In July 2024, the Doosan Group announced a plan to absorb Doosan Bobcat into Doosan Robotics via a share swap; amid regulator and investor opposition, the plan was withdrawn in December 2024. The CEO is Scott Park (Park Sung-chull).
