Encord

Encord (Cord Technologies Limited) is a UK-based technology company providing data infrastructure for physical AI, describing itself as "the multimodal data layer for physical AI". Its platform lets AI teams manage, curate, annotate and align large, multimodal datasets — from sensor streams and video to images, text and audio — at petabyte scale, in order to train and evaluate AI models. The company was founded in 2021 by Eric Landau (CEO) and Ulrik Stig Hansen (President), went through the Y Combinator (W21) accelerator, and is headquartered in London with offices in San Francisco and New York. Its offering includes Encord Annotate (data annotation, including DICOM medical imaging), Encord Curation (data curation and management) and physical-AI data-preparation services. More than 300 AI teams use the platform, including Woven by Toyota, AXA, UiPath and Zipline. Encord has raised $110M in total funding, including a Series C ($60M / €50M) led by Wellington Management.
