IEEE Spectrum is the flagship magazine of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest professional association of engineers. Its first issue appeared in January 1964, succeeding the earlier title Electrical Engineering. Published both in print and as the online outlet spectrum.ieee.org, it reports on developments across technology, engineering, computing, energy, artificial intelligence and robotics. Its editorial operations are based in New York City, and it is published by IEEE, a US-based nonprofit organization.
