Insilico Medicine

Insilico Medicine is a biotechnology company combining genomics, big-data analysis and deep learning for 'in silico' (computational) drug discovery. It was founded in 2014 by Alex Zhavoronkov (CEO). After relocating in mid-2024, its headquarters is in Boston, and the company operates globally (including Hong Kong Science Park, New York, Montreal, Abu Dhabi, Taiwan and mainland China; about 350 people as of 2024). At the core of its offering is the Pharma.AI platform, comprising PandaOmics (therapeutic-target identification and omics analysis), Chemistry42 (generative molecule design using GANs and reinforcement learning) and InClinico (clinical-trial outcome prediction). The company also uses an automated, robotic laboratory. Its lead AI-discovered drug candidate is rentosertib (INS018_055) for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Insilico has raised over $400M in funding (including a $255M Series C in 2021 and a $60M Series D in 2022), and in late 2025 it went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (about $293M). In March 2026 a deal with Eli Lilly worth up to $2.75B for AI-driven drug discovery was announced.
