Jina AI

Jina AI (Jina AI GmbH) is a German artificial intelligence company founded in 2020 and headquartered in Berlin. It specializes in search foundation models, developing embedding models, rerankers, readers and small language models used to build semantic search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems. Many of its models (including the jina-embeddings, jina-reranker and jina-clip families) are released as open source while also being offered commercially through usage-based APIs. In October 2025, Jina AI was acquired by Elastic N.V.
