Kakuichi
Founded 1886 · Nagano, JapanKakuichi (株式会社カクイチ, Kakuichi Co., Ltd.) is a Japanese company with its registered head office in Nagano (Nagano Prefecture) and an operational headquarters in Tokyo (Chiyoda). It traces its origins to 'Tanaka Shōten', a copper-and-iron hardware store founded in 1886 in Inariyama (today part of Chikuma), and was incorporated as a joint-stock company in 1959. Its core business is steel products — garages, carports and warehouses (the A-SITE store network) — together with resin hoses and irrigation equipment (Galudina). The group also produces mineral water (Iwashimizu), water technologies (nanobubbles), interior plastering material (SilicaLime), runs a hotel (Ancient Hotel Asama-Karuizawa) and operates an extensive energy business: installing rooftop photovoltaics on garages it has sold ('Solar Partner' programme) and energy management. Kakuichi is active in digital transformation (DX), MaaS, regional revitalisation (partnership agreements with municipalities) and robotics initiatives — together with Play Robotics it is introducing a bipedal humanoid (Unitree G1) named 'Miyazawa Noah' as an 'employee'. Its president and representative director is Tanaka Riyu. Share capital is JPY 100 million, group-wide revenue about JPY 35 billion (fiscal year ending May 2025) and headcount around 600 across the group. Corporate number (hōjin bangō): 3100001000597.
