National University of Singapore

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is an autonomous public research university in Singapore. Its origins date back to 1905 and the Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Government Medical School; the university took its present form on 6 August 1980 through the merger of the University of Singapore and Nanyang University. Its main campus is at Kent Ridge (Queenstown). NUS educates around 35,000 students and employs over 2,500 academic staff across 17 faculties and schools, including the School of Computing, the College of Design and Engineering, the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and NUS Business School. The university conducts extensive research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision and robotics. It ranked 8th worldwide in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
