NBC News is the news division of the American broadcast television network NBC, operating under the NBCUniversal News Group — a unit of NBCUniversal, which is a subsidiary of Comcast. It was founded on February 21, 1940, and is headquartered at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan, New York City. NBC News produces television programs including NBC Nightly News, Today, Meet the Press and Dateline NBC, and operates the NBCNews.com website (formerly msnbc.com). The president of NBC News is Rebecca Blumenstein. In 2025, MSNBC, CNBC and CNBC World were spun off from NBCUniversal into Versant.
