Oura

Oura (Oura Health Oy) is a Finnish digital-health and consumer-electronics company founded in 2013 in Oulu by Petteri Lahtela, Kari Kivelä and Markku Koskela — former engineers associated with Nokia and Polar. Its flagship product is the Oura Ring, a smart ring tracking sleep, physical activity, heart rate, heart-rate variability, temperature and respiration; the data is analyzed in the Oura app and surfaced as Sleep, Activity and Readiness scores. Some features sit behind the paid Oura Membership subscription, and the AI-based Oura Advisor provides personalized health guidance. The company runs twin headquarters in Oulu and San Francisco, with additional offices including Helsinki, London, Los Angeles and San Diego. In 2026 it redomiciled to the United States as Oura Inc. (a holding company over Finland's Oura Health Oy), retaining significant engineering presence in Oulu. Tom Hale has been CEO since April 2022. Oura is regarded as Finland's most valuable startup; after its Series E round (2025) its valuation reached approximately US$11 billion.
