Petrobras

Petrobras (Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.) is a majority state-owned Brazilian oil and gas corporation headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, established in 1953 under Law No. 2,004 during the presidency of Getúlio Vargas. The company operates across the full oil and gas value chain: exploration and production (including deepwater pre-salt reserves), refining, transport and distribution of crude oil, natural gas and fuels; it also produces fertilizers and is expanding into energy. Its majority shareholder is the Brazilian federal government. Petrobras is listed on Brazil's B3 exchange (PETR3, PETR4) and on the NYSE (PBR, PBR.A) and Latibex in Madrid.
