Promova

Promova is a language-learning platform available as a mobile app (iOS, Android) and web product, built by a Ukraine-rooted team. The company launched in 2019 under the name Ten Words and later rebranded to Promova (Ukrainian for “speech”). It offers courses in more than a dozen languages (including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Ukrainian and American Sign Language) on a freemium model with a paid Premium subscription. The product combines bite-sized lessons, 1:1 tutoring, conversation clubs and AI-based tools (pronunciation recognition, a conversational tutor and role-play practice). Per company figures, 23M+ learners have used the platform and the app has been downloaded 20M+ times across 190+ countries. In 2023 Promova introduced a dyslexia-friendly mode. It is headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, with an office in Kyiv.
