The Public Investment Fund (PIF, صندوق الاستثمارات العامة) is Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, established on 17 August 1971. It is owned by the Government of Saudi Arabia; its chairman is Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and its governor is Yasir Al-Rumayyan. With assets under management on the order of USD 900 billion (2026), it is among the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world. PIF invests globally across many sectors — including Lucid Motors, Uber, SoftBank, Magic Leap and the gaming industry (stakes in Nintendo, Electronic Arts, Take-Two and others). In artificial intelligence, PIF owns Humain (launched in 2025), which develops AI technologies and infrastructure.
