ROBOTIS Co., Ltd. is a South Korean robotics company founded in 1999 by Kim Byoung-Soo and headquartered in Seoul (Gangseo-gu district). The company is listed on the KOSDAQ exchange under ticker 108490. ROBOTIS specializes in designing and manufacturing the DYNAMIXEL line of smart servo actuators, which have become a de facto standard in research and educational robotics. It develops open, ROS-based robot platforms, including the TurtleBot3 mobile platform (co-developed with the Open Source Robotics Foundation), the OpenMANIPULATOR arm, and humanoid robots such as ROBOTIS OP2 (formerly DARwIn-OP) and the Bioloid kits. In recent years ROBOTIS has positioned itself in the Physical AI space with the AI Sapiens humanoid, the GAEMI service robots, and new actuator lines. Alongside hardware, the company publishes open-source software such as the DYNAMIXEL SDK to support developers and system integrators.
