RobotShop is a Canadian company operating a global online store and distribution network for robotics products. Founded in 2003 by Mario Tremblay and headquartered in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada, it offers a broad catalog: DIY kits, components (motors, servos, sensors, controllers) and educational, mobile, industrial and humanoid robots. It runs distribution centers in Canada, the US (Mooers, New York), the Netherlands (Venlo) and Japan (Tokushima). In August 2012 it acquired Lynxmotion, a manufacturer of educational robotic kits. Beyond retail and marketplace sales, it provides guidance and support for deploying professional robots.
Founders
Founder of RobotShop; in 2002 he started a robotic lawn mower project ("RoboR") with university colleagues, which led to the company being founded in 2003.
