South Korean robotics startup developing industrial humanoid robots (IGRIS-C) built on its "Physical AI" approach, with in-house full-stack hardware and software.
Robros (로브로스) is a South Korean robotics startup headquartered in Seoul (Seongsu, Seongdong-gu), founded on 2 September 2020 by Seungjun Ro. The company develops general-purpose industrial humanoid robots built on its own "Physical AI" concept, which integrates three intelligences: agent intelligence (high-level decision-making using VLA and robot foundation models), motor intelligence (reinforcement-learning-based whole-body control and bimanual manipulation) and spatial intelligence (3D perception, environment reconstruction and autonomous navigation). Its flagship product is the bipedal humanoid IGRIS-C (154 cm, 56 kg), unveiled in 2025 including at the CoRL and Humanoids 2025 conferences; the company earlier released the IGRIS-A model. From 2020 to 2024 Robros operated in service robotics (unmanned cafés, including its own BETTER THAN YOURS brand), winning Red Dot (2023) and iF Design (2024) awards, before pivoting to industrial humanoids. It has raised about ₩6 billion in total (a ₩1.6B seed round in 2023 and a ₩4.0B pre-Series A in 2025); investors include STIC Ventures, HB Investment, Lotte Ventures, Primer Sazze Partners and GS Retail. Robros is a member of the national K-Humanoid Alliance consortium (a MOTIE initiative) and runs IGRIS-C deployment pilots in logistics, automotive manufacturing and semiconductor cleanrooms.
