Runware is a company building an API platform for generative-AI inference - a single endpoint to generate images, video, audio, 3D and text (LLMs) from over 400k models, powered by its proprietary Sonic Inference Engine and owned hardware infrastructure.
Runware is a technology company founded in 2023 that provides an API platform for generative-AI inference. The company positions itself as 'one API for all AI': through a single, unified endpoint developers get access to over 400,000 models across multiple modalities - image generation and editing (including FLUX, Stable Diffusion), video (including Veo, Kling), audio, 3D and language-model (LLM) inference. At the core of the offering is the proprietary Sonic Inference Engine - an in-house hardware-software stack optimized from the BIOS and kernel level, running on the company's owned hardware infrastructure. Runware claims this delivers significantly higher throughput than generic cloud GPUs, sub-second cold starts (models preloaded across regional pods) and substantially lower generation cost. Its business model is based on pay-per-request billing for each generation, with no subscriptions or commitments. The platform has powered more than 10 billion creations for over 200,000 developers. In December 2025 the company raised a $50M Series A (led by Dawn Capital and Comcast Ventures), bringing total funding to about $66M; investors also include Insight Partners, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z Speedrun), Lakestar and Speedinvest.
