Singtel

Singtel (Singapore Telecommunications Limited) is the largest telecommunications operator in Singapore and one of the largest companies listed on the Singapore Exchange (ticker Z74). The present-day entity was incorporated on 28 March 1992, with roots dating back to 1879; it was listed publicly in October 1993. Its majority, controlling shareholder is the state investment company Temasek Holdings. The group runs consumer and enterprise operations in Singapore and — through its wholly owned subsidiary Optus — in Australia, and holds stakes in regional operators including Bharti Airtel (India), Telkomsel (Indonesia), Globe Telecom (Philippines) and Advanced Info Service (Thailand); the combined mobile subscriber base of the group and its associates reaches about 800 million (as of 31 March 2025). For the financial year ended 31 March 2025 the group reported revenue of S$14.146 billion and net profit of S$4.017 billion, with more than 24,000 employees. Beyond mobile, fixed-line and broadband telephony, Singtel is building out 5G, enterprise services (NCS), data centres and AI technologies. In October 2024 the company unveiled RE:AI, a cloud service aimed at making AI technologies widely accessible to organisations. In February 2026 Singtel and KKR acquired the remaining stake in data centre operator ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), leaving Singtel with a 25% holding.
