SoftBank Corp. (ソフトバンク株式会社) is one of Japan's largest telecommunications carriers and a technology company headquartered in the Minato ward of Tokyo (Tokyo Port City Takeshiba). It provides mobile (MNO), fixed-line and internet services, and sells mobile devices. The company operates across four segments: Consumer, Enterprise, Media & EC, and Financial. Its brands and services include SoftBank, Y!mobile, LINEMO, SoftBank Hikari and PayPay, and within its group it consolidates LINE Yahoo. The company adopted its current name on 1 July 2015, changing it from SoftBank Mobile Corp. SoftBank Corp. is a consolidated subsidiary of the investment holding company SoftBank Group Corp., and has been listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (ticker 9434) since December 2018. It pursues an "Activate AI for Society" strategy, investing in AI infrastructure, cloud computing and generative AI.
