Founded 1997 · Singapore, SingaporeST Engineering (Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd) is a Singapore-based technology, defence and engineering group with a portfolio spanning commercial aerospace, smart city, and defence and public security. In its present form the company was created on 27 August 1997 through the merger of four Singapore Technologies subsidiaries (aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding and electronics), with roots tracing back to Chartered Industries of Singapore, founded in 1967. It is listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX: S63) and controlled by Singapore's state investment holding company Temasek Holdings. It operates globally — across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and the United States — and employs around 27,000 people (2024). In robotics and AI it develops autonomous systems: autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), autonomous vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and data analytics, computer vision and cybersecurity solutions for cities and critical infrastructure. It ranks among the largest companies on the SGX and among the world's leading defence manufacturers according to SIPRI and Defense News rankings.
