The Transdev brand was created in 1989 by Caisse des Dépôts, and the current group was formed in 2011 through the merger of Veolia Transport and Transdev (initially as Veolia Transdev). The company operates in 19 countries, carrying tens of millions of passengers daily via buses, trams, metro, rail, cable cars and other modes; it employs about 107,000 people and reported revenue of roughly €10.4B (2025). Its ownership comprises Rethmann Group (66%) and Caisse des Dépôts (34%). In AI and robotics, Transdev runs the Transdev Autonomous Transport Systems division and autonomous shuttle programs, including NAVETTY (with EasyMile) and i-Cristal (with Lohr and Mobileye).
