Ultra Robotics (Ultra) is an American, Y Combinator-backed (S24) robotics startup, maker of the stationary dual-arm OP1 “Operator” humanoid for warehouse automation and e-commerce order fulfillment. Headquartered at Industry City in Brooklyn, New York.
Ultra Robotics (also operating as “Ultra”) is an American robotics startup headquartered at Industry City in Brooklyn, New York, developing practical, general-purpose robots for repetitive industrial tasks and warehouse automation. Its flagship product is the OP1 “Operator” — a stationary, dual-arm humanoid introduced in 2025 that performs picking, packing, scanning and conveyor handling with a reach of about 10 feet (3 m). The OP1 deliberately sacrifices mobility for continuous 24/7 operation powered from a wall outlet (no battery swaps), with zero tipping risk and minimal changes to warehouse infrastructure; the robot “can be rolled up, plugged in, and operational within hours.” It uses Physical Intelligence's π0.6 foundation model for complex tasks. The company was founded in 2024 by Jon Miller Schwartz (CEO), Max Friefeld (COO), Chetan Parthiban (Chief Scientist) and Oliver Ortlieb, and went through the Y Combinator (Summer 2024) accelerator. Among its deployments, Brooklyn-based 3PL Highline Commerce fulfills up to 30% of its daily order volume using Ultra robots, serving over 200 retail brands, at the same Industry City campus.
