UNCTAD

UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development), which since 2024 has used the brand name "UN Trade and Development", is a subsidiary body of the UN General Assembly established on 30 December 1964. It deals with international trade, investment and the economic development of developing countries. It is headquartered at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization has 195 member states and around 400 staff. UNCTAD publishes several flagship reports, including the Technology and Innovation Report and the Digital Economy Report, which analyze the impact of frontier technologies, including artificial intelligence, on the economy and development. Since June 2021 its Secretary-General has been Rebeca Grynspan.
