Zander Labs

Zander Labs (Zander Laboratories GmbH) is a German-Dutch deep-tech company at the forefront of passive brain-computer interfaces (passive BCI) and neuroadaptive technology. The company builds brain-computer interfaces that provide real-time insight into a user's mental states, so that technology can understand, adapt to and evolve with the human. Its goal is to build a platform that provides universal classifiers and insight into mental states based on natural brain activity. Zander Labs was founded in 2016 by Professor Thorsten O. Zander (founder, Chief Science Officer) and Dr. Laurens R. Krol (co-founder, Research Director); Jonathan Zwaan serves as CEO. It is headquartered in Cottbus, Germany, with offices in Berlin and Munich and in Delft, the Netherlands. In its early years the company collaborated with Airbus and Volkswagen, and later with Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) in Cottbus. In 2023 Zander Labs was awarded the €30M NAFAS research contract — the largest of its kind in the European Union — which accelerated team growth to over 30 people, including 12 PhDs.
