Zebra Technologies Corporation is an American technology company headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois, founded in 1969 (originally as Data Specialties Incorporated; renamed Zebra Technologies in 1986). It designs hardware, software and services for smart data capture and frontline automation: barcode scanners, mobile computers, thermal and RFID printers, RFID readers, machine vision systems and locationing technologies. The company is listed on NASDAQ under the ticker ZBRA and is a component of the S&P 500. It expanded into robotics and AI through acquisitions including Fetch Robotics (autonomous mobile robots, 2021), Matrox Imaging (2022) and Reflexis Systems (2020). It employs about 10,700 people and serves industries such as retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation and logistics.
