Granite is a family of open foundation models developed by IBM Research for enterprise use. The models are released under the Apache 2.0 license and span language models, code models, time-series models, geospatial models and speech models (Granite Speech). IBM positions Granite as enterprise-ready models with an emphasis on training-data transparency, efficiency and the ability to self-host.
