AGIBOT Tops the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games With 46 Medals

AGIBOT finished the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing in first place — 46 medals, 18 of them gold. The Chinese company beat TianGong Robotics by a single medal. It did so on machines pulled from active production lines, not prototypes built for the event.

AGIBOT’s edge did not come from the track. The OmniHand reached the finals in all eight dexterity events and collected seven gold medals — cable connection, unboxing, block building, powder weighing, bean picking with tweezers.

Add five golds for the G2 robot in scenario events: hotel service, library logistics, emergency response. The X2 won the 100 m obstacle race, the A3 took tai chi. In the manipulation events the team used MANUS metagloves for teleoperation support, as Humanoids Daily reports.

Record Versus Competence

TianGong Robotics bet on athletics. On August 22, at Beijing’s Ice Ribbon oval, TianGong Ultra covered 100 metres in 9.32 seconds — below the men’s world record of 9.58 s. The robot reset its own mark five times in two hours.

That was worth 45 medals and second place. One medal short of first.

Hardware Off the Line

The strongest signal from Beijing is not the table, it is the hardware. AGIBOT fielded the G2, A3 and X2 — units the company describes as “already in mass production or deployed in real-world applications”.

Why It Matters

The games split two philosophies of humanoid design. One chases records and looks good on camera. The other tests whether a robot can handle tweezers, a carton and a hotel desk. Commercially, the second one counts. Competing on production units also changes what the ranking measures — it stops measuring lab capability and starts measuring product repeatability. For an industrial buyer that argues louder than a sprint time.
