FF EAI Robotics Ecosystem and Faraday Future unveiled two humanoids for developers and schools on October 18. FF Nova starts at $2,490, Nova Mini at $299. The first batch is capped at 100 units.
Key takeaways
- FF Nova: 497 mm tall, 2.8 kg, 20 full-body degrees of freedom
- Nova Mini: 34.9 cm, 0.94 kg, 17 servos, voice control
- Nova phase one limited to 100 units, applications open for seven days
- Developer skill package $390, Nova Mini curriculum $499
- FFR open-sourced its FF Master-based NVIDIA SONIC stack on GitHub and Hugging Face
A small humanoid with a detachable wheeled base
Nova is a pocket-format robot. Faraday Future calls it a physical AI lab in a backpack. It walks on two legs but also ships with a detachable wheeled base.
An inference engine runs on-device, so the robot does not have to call the cloud. It supports SLAM, language models and VLA policies. That is enough to run a full sim-to-real cycle on a real body, not just in a simulator.

Nova Mini targets the classroom
Mini is half the height and weighs under a kilogram. Instead of industrial drives it uses 17 simple servos, and you program it visually or by voice.
The robot is not sold alone. It ships with the Physical AI Spark Program — 16 sessions over eight weeks on Zoom, in groups of 6–10 children.
An open stack instead of a closed ecosystem
FFR opened the software layer at the same time. Its FF Master-based NVIDIA SONIC solutions — data, models and deployment tooling — went to GitHub and Hugging Face. The new Futurist module supports SONIC in full. Most budget humanoid makers keep their control stack closed.
The acquisition and a separate listing
FFR, listed on NASDAQ and previously trading as AIxCrypto Holdings, is acquiring the robotics business from Faraday Future Intelligent Electric. Founder and CEO YT Jia said a separate listing brings direct comparability with other robotics firms.
Why it matters
That package moves the entry barrier for embodied AI research from the lab down to a single student. The 100-unit cap, though, shows this is a demand test rather than volume production.
What's next
- FF Nova phase-one applications close seven days after the announcement, with results after the window shuts
- FFR holds a listing ceremony at Nasdaq Tower in New York and its first Investor Day on October 26
- The company targets positive operating cash flow by Q3 2028, with total funding under $150 million
