RoboSense: Robotics LiDAR Sales Up 510 Percent in H1 2026

RoboSense reported its first-half 2026 results on 26 August: revenue of RMB 1.02 billion, up 30.2 percent year over year. The shape of that growth is more interesting than the figure itself — robotics LiDAR sales jumped 510.4 percent to 282,600 units. The company also announced it is entering three new categories of robot components.

Robotics Is Growing Three Times Faster Than the Business

Two numbers side by side say more than the revenue line. Total LiDAR volume grew 169.6 percent to 719,200 units. The robotics segment grew 510.4 percent — roughly three times faster. Robotics is what is pulling volume growth now, not the other way round.

Eyes, Skin, Muscles

The company is not stopping at LiDAR. Three new product lines enter commercialisation this year, each aimed at a different part of the robot.

Its Own Silicon

Underneath sits a new EOCENE SPAD: Single Photon Avalanche Diode — an avalanche diode able to detect a single photon. In a LiDAR it allows range measurement even when the signal returning from an object is very weak.-SoC architecture, introduced together with two chipsets. The first mass-production product on in-house silicon is the E2 LiDAR with the Peacock chip.

The company stresses that it does not intend to manufacture every robot component — resources are to go into the most critical upper-body building blocks.

Why It Matters

Component suppliers are a good barometer of Physical AI, because they sell earlier than the makers of finished robots. A volume of 282,600 sensors does not go into slide decks, it goes into designs someone is building right now. Extending the range into touch and joints also means the market is starting to buy subsystems in bundles rather than one at a time — which lowers the barrier for new robot makers.
