On 27 October 2026, at its "Rokid Jungle 2026" event, Rokid presented three devices: Rokid Glasses 2, the full-colour Rokid Color, and the Rokid Ring. The notable part is not that the glasses gained colour. It is that a separate input device was added to operate them — because voice and a touch-sensitive temple stopped being enough.
Key takeaways
- Rokid Glasses 2: CNY 3,699 in black, CNY 3,849 in tortoiseshell — CNY 3,199 and 3,349 respectively with the national subsidy
- Rokid Color: CNY 4,999 for 2 GB + 64 GB, CNY 5,499 for 4 GB + 64 GB
- Rokid Ring: CNY 1,699, micro-gestures plus heart rate, temperature, blood oxygen and sleep tracking
- The Glasses 2 optical engine shrank 30%, and the battery grew to 263 mAh (+25%)
- Platform: more than 45,000 registered developers and more than 700 published agents
Where this starts
Someone walking down the street wants to check a task's progress in their glasses. Saying it out loud is awkward in a queue, and touching the temple means raising a hand to the face.
Rokid adds a third option: a ring on the finger. Swipe left, swipe right, single click, double click.
But here is the problem: a new input only makes sense if the display actually has something to show.
Which is why the Ring was shown alongside full-colour glasses rather than on its own.
What exactly was shown?
Three devices, three roles. Glasses 2 succeeds the main model. Color is a separate design with a full-colour display. Ring is a controller.
| Product | Role | List price |
|---|---|---|
| Rokid Glasses 2 | Main AI glasses, audio and camera | CNY 3,699 (black) · CNY 3,849 (tortoiseshell) |
| Rokid Color | Full-colour Micro-LED display, 55 g | CNY 4,999 (2+64 GB) · CNY 5,499 (4+64 GB) |
| Rokid Ring | Micro-gestures, health monitoring | CNY 1,699 |
Glasses 2 also has a subsidised price: CNY 3,199 in black and CNY 3,349 in tortoiseshell. Roughly, CNY 3,699 is about $520.
What actually changed in Glasses 2?
The changes are small and specific — for a second generation, a good sign rather than a bad one.
The frame
The optical engine shrank 30% in volume and the frame got 1 millimetre shorter. The temples are flexible, with a revised spread angle and a changed nose-pad contact area and material. Magnetic prescription inserts and a clip-on sunglass lens cover myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia.
Optics
On the optics side the manufacturer gives three numbers: rainbow artifacts down 60%, reflectance down 70%, and in-coupling grating efficiency up 30%. Special coatings on the in-coupling grating, an anti-reflective coating and a nanometre-scale groove texture account for that.
Audio and compute
Audio is a new AAC speaker with Dolby certification, four omnidirectional microphones and one bone-conduction mic. Compute splits across two chips: a first-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1+ platform and a Bestechnic BES2800BP. Android and an RTOS run in parallel, with work allocated by performance and power demand.
Power
The battery is 263 mAh, 25% more than before. The second-generation charging capsule is 335 mAh per cell, with 1,500 mAh in the case, reportedly 0 to 90% in 30 minutes and 14% more efficient. A full case plus capsule charges the glasses six times and works with the first generation too.
Camera
The camera is 12 megapixels in a 1GM5P hybrid glass-plastic lens group, with HDR and RAW14. Video: 4K at 30 fps or 2K at 60 fps, with a night mode and stabilisation. Pre-shot preview is new.
What do these names mean?
A few terms from this launch determine how the numbers should be read.
- In-coupling grating — the element that feeds light from the projector into the lens. The higher its efficiency, the brighter the image at the same power draw.
- Rainbow artifacts — coloured streaks visible on the lens in external light. A defect, not a feature.
- Micro-LED — a display technology with its own light source in every pixel. Smaller and brighter than the alternatives, but harder to manufacture in colour.
- 0.16 cc — the optical engine's volume in cubic centimetres. In glasses, volume matters rather than screen diagonal.
- Bone-conduction microphone — a sensor picking up skull vibration instead of air. It hears the wearer even in noise.
- RTOS — a real-time operating system handling whatever must respond instantly. Android takes the rest.
The main axis of this launch follows from that list: Rokid is not competing for a bigger image, but for a smaller optical engine at higher brightness.
Why a ring, when there is voice and touch?
Rokid Color weighs 55 grams without the nose pad and uses its own full-colour Micro-LED engine of 0.16 cc. Full colour unlocks what a monochrome display cannot show: photos, video, colour-coded states, navigation, task progress, games.
Set that against Rokid's own documentation. In its material on AIUI — the company's agentic runtime for display-equipped glasses — it writes that the current design specification is monochrome green, built on text and shapes, and that "color alone can't carry the meaning". Rokid Color changes the premise the existing guidance was built on.
The more the display shows, the more it needs a way to scroll. The Ring handles left and right swipes, single and double clicks — as an alternative to voice and temple touch. The scenarios the manufacturer gives are situations where speaking is awkward or something must be browsed continuously.
The ring also measures heart rate, temperature, blood oxygen and sleep. That reveals it is not purely an accessory to the glasses but a separate body-worn device.
How does the accessibility part work?
The most concrete new application is support for blind and low-vision users. Here Rokid works with JD Explore Academy and uses the JoyAI-VL-Interaction model, with end-to-end access provided by JoyInside.
This is a simplified flow of an announced feature, not a description of verified field behaviour.
For deaf users, Glasses 2 separates several speakers, records subtitles and summarises. The other AI features: meeting minutes combining audio with the wearer's point of view, call translation across 89 languages — including WeChat calls, Feishu meetings and Teams — with bidirectional voice cloning, plus instant and all-day recall across conversations, events and photos.
Is it live yet?
These are announced products with stated list prices. The launch took place on 27 October 2026, and the prices cover the colour and memory variants.
None of the reported values has independent confirmation — all of them come from the manufacturer's own materials.
The ecosystem is announced more broadly than demonstrated. The company lists Qoder for programming tasks launched from the glasses, Qianwen Office for office work and WorkBuddy for dispatching tasks. In everyday services the partners are Xiaohongshu, Meituan, Tencent mobility services and SMZDM.
Why does it matter?
Full colour plus a separate controller move AI glasses out of the "voice recorder with a camera" category and into the category of a device with an interface. That shift costs more than it looks: it forces a rewrite of design guidance the manufacturer itself built on a monochrome display.
What comes next?
- Rokid announced the Spatial Joy 2026 contest with a CNY 5 million prize pool and $1 million of token support — a tool for filling out the agent catalogue.
- The platform has over 45,000 registered developers and over 12,000 agents built, but only 700-plus published, of which more than 100 are on AIUI. That gap is the most telling maturity indicator.
- The current AIUI design specification is monochrome green — Rokid Color's arrival will force an update before agents can use colour.
