mimic robotics

mimic robotics is a Swiss physical-AI company, an ETH Zurich spin-off, headquartered in Zurich with a research unit in San Francisco. The company develops Video-Action Models for industrial robot learning: a robot learns complex manipulation tasks from a generative video model that, thanks to large-scale pre-training, already understands the dynamics and behavior of the world. Unlike Vision-Language-Action models trained on static images, this approach lets a robot be fine-tuned for a specific task with as little as ~30 minutes of robot data, instead of the 30 or more hours previously required. Its key products are mimic-video (the first Video-Action Model) and FLUX-mimic (a next-generation model developed with Black Forest Labs on the FLUX video-model architecture). Its co-founder and Chief Product Officer is Stephan-Daniel Gravert. The company has raised a $2.5M pre-seed (2024) and a $16M seed round (2025, Elaia and SpeedInvest). Deployments include work with Audi on soft-body manipulation tasks in automotive manufacturing.
