Apple M4 Pro
Apple M4 Pro is a system-on-chip (SoC) in Apple's M4 family, announced on October 30, 2024. It scales up the M4 architecture with an up to 14-core CPU (up to 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores) and an up to 20-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
It includes the 16-core M4-family Neural Engine capable of up to 38 trillion operations per second (38 TOPS), supports up to 64GB of unified memory with 273GB/s of memory bandwidth, and adds Thunderbolt 5 (up to 120Gb/s) to the Mac. It is built on a second-generation 3-nanometer process and ships in the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro and the Mac mini.
In robotics it is relevant as a high-performance edge/on-device compute SoC for perception and on-device AI inference.
